One Member One Act - Women Empowerment and Entrepreneurship - Rtn Nisreen Madraswala
Members of RC Chennai Bharathi take the spirit of rotary wherever they travel. This initiative to support the female daily wagers of "Sidhpur Home Society" in Gujrat was taken by our president-elect/treasurer, Rtn. Nisreen Madraswala.
On December 26, 2023, she and her family visited this society and made a humble contribution of Rs.5000/- to support the work of these women. Thirty-five women work in this society, and this is supported by many families who left this town and moved to cities.
They make traditional Bohri foods, short eats, pickles, and papads and sell these worldwide. They have an FSSAI license for most of their products, and its a classic example of supporting women and entrepreneurship. We wish to contribute more to this society.
