WASH PROJECT - Sri RKM Sarada Vidhyalaya
October 11th is celebrated as *International Girl Child Day every year. But this school celebrates girls every day. On October 11, 2023, the Rotary Club of Chennai Bharathi had an excellent opportunity to witness this beauty at *RKM SARADHA VIDYALAY MATRIC HR. SEC SCHOOL, T.NAGAR*.
To celebrate this day, our club engaged the girls from grades ten, eleven, and twelve in critical skills essential to overcoming daily challenges.
Following the Emotional Wellbeing workshop by Rtn Dr Jayashree, Mrs Bindiya and Rtn Rajeshwari Duraipandian (Chairman - WASH) addressed the students .
*Personal hygiene* plays a crucial role in one?s emotional well-being. As a continuation, Mrs. Bindhya Velusamy, the founder of Radha Enterprises, enlightened the importance of hygiene during the menstrual cycle by explaining the biological process. This session was well received, with students engaging in a question-answer session. She also distributed disposable underpants to each student and highlighted their importance.
*WASH (water and sanitary hygiene )* is another essential element in one?s emotional and physical well-being. On this note, the vocational service Director and WASH chairman of RC Chennai Bharathi, Rtn. Rajeswari Duraipandian highlighted the importance of washing hands. She encouraged the students to be focused on their tasks and studies.
At the end of the session, we distributed sweet boxes to the students and staff of the school.
The chairman of women empowerment from RC Chennai Bharathi Rtn. Santhi Rajkumar addressed the students with words of encouragement.
The chief guest, Dr. Geetha Ashok, addressed the students and motivated them with her words of inspiration.
