CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES TO IRULAR COMMUNITY AT KUYILKUPPAM
Kuyilkuppam becomes Nallammai Ramanathan Nagar. 63 row houses were built and donated to the Irula community at a cost of ₹7.50 cr by Rotary with patta land given by the TN Government. It is a huge project that has been taken up by a private organisation and completed successfully.
Rtn. Abiramy Ramanathan of Rotary club of Madras Central, initiated this project in 2018-19, and was the lead contributor with a personal contribution of ₹4 cr. Other clubs from Districts 3232 & 3231, Rotary International and a few individuals contributed the rest. The total cost of the project is ₹ 7.5 Cr.
Our club had contributed ₹2 lakhs in 2018-19, fully funded by PDG Rtn.J Sridhar. This fund was used to construct House No.36, Nallammai Ramanathan Nagar, earlier known as Kuyilkuppam, near Chengelpet.
The project was inaugurated on 2/8/23.
